Insurance Disclosure Law

Chapter 627 Section 4137 - 2021 Florida Statutes - The Florida Senate (flsenate.gov)

If you are injured due to someone elses negligence or due to someone elses actions, we will pursue a claim for damages against the responsible parties. The 1st step in this process is to obtain any and all insurance information that may pay for your damages.

Florida Statute 627.4137 requires that an at-fault party and their insurance agent provide the name and coverage information of each known insurer within 30 days of a written request, and they must also forward the request to their liability insurance carrier. The liability insurance carrier then has 30 days to provide a statement under oath containing the following:

(a) The name of the insurer.

(b) The name of each insured.

(c) The limits of the liability coverage.

(d) A statement of any policy or coverage defense which such insurer reasonably believes is available to such insurer at the time of filing such statement.

(e) A copy of the policy.

We will then review these documents with you and proceed with the next steps in the claim and/or lawsuit process.
